I’m not a gadget person, although I must admit when GPS navigation systems came onto the scene, I was one of the first in line to purchase. I remembered getting into a car with a friend to discover that their car was equipped with a “nav” system that actually provided audible turn by turn directions door to door. Following that experience, I had to have one!

Prior to owning a GPS, I would frustrate myself believing that I could simply find my way if I could get into what I thought was the general vicinity. Yeah right, up and down streets I would go, rarely finding my destination. Often I would resort to putting my window down and asking someone if they knew where the address I was looking for was. You would be amazed at how many people would give me directions with such conviction, only to discover they really had no idea either.

Isn’t that just like our lives? How many times do we believe that we are heading in the right direction, convinced that we know what is best for us, how best to proceed without counsel, and we charge in a direction making decision after decision that results in disappointment and delusion and at times disaster.

When we stop and realize that we have 24 hour access to a supernatural navigation system that knows exactly what is in our best interest, where we need to be, when we need to be there. Isaiah 30:21(NIV) “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it.”

We get frustrated at times when the route is longer than we believe it should take, however time after time the Lord gets us to our best right on time.

The Lord is always waiting for us to consult with Him before we set about our life’s journeys. It doesn’t matter where we are headed, a new job, a new relationship, a medical decision or legal decision to name a few. If we slow down, relying on faith with our hearts and minds stayed on HIM, we will successfully arrive every time.
