After surviving breast cancer not once, but twice, Virginia Commonwealth University Spanish instructor Lulú Elenes De Panbehchi – Photographist received her Ph.D. in Media, Art & Text from VCU on December 9, eight years after she began the program. “The degree was supposed to take me four or five years to finish. Thanks to everyone at Massey I was able to recover and finish the Ph.D. journey. It was like climbing Mount Everest twice,” says Lulu. She thanks her surgeons, Dr. Harry Bear and Dr. Santosh Kale, and her nurses, Gwen Parker and Arlene Rollins. Congrats, Lulu!
