There’s something about those golden arches that make kids and child-like individuals get starry-eyed and salivate.  Through the years, our favorite restaurant, McDonald’s has continued to change with the times and add more healthier items such as salads, grilled chicken, yogurt and kid-friendly items for our families.

They now have a new tasty item that is sure to be a delight to your tastebuds. The Fruit & Maple Oatmeal is here and available all day.  I recently had the opportunity to attend the launch of this delicious selection accompanied with the yummy McCafe Caramel Mocha.  Burrell Communications exec Iman Jefferson invited a host of media to get a preview of the economically priced ($1.99) and caloric-friendly (290) oatmeal.  The events’ ambassadors were, author of “Fit Home Team & The Beauty of Love”,  Laura Posada, lifestyle maven Bevy Smith and Jeannie Mai, host of  Style Network’s “How Do I Look”.  It definitely was a simple joy for the morning. These lovely ladies shared their secrets on achieving a wonderful morning through fashion presentations, beauty how-to’s and fitness/wellness tips.

Here’s 3 reasons why you should taste the Fruit & Maple Oatmeal:

1.  You can taste the simple joy- Its available any time of the day.  The new McDonald’s Fruit & Maple Oatmeal is freshly prepared with cream, topped with diced fresh red and green apples, tangy dried cranberries, two types of sweet raisins and blended with brown sugar.  *Oatmeal is available without brown sugar*

2.  You can fuel up with every wholesome bite– You can feel good about eating this regularly.  It has two-thirds of a day’s worth of 100 percent natural whole grain oats. According to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2005, recommends that Americans nine years of age and older eat at least three servings of whole grains daily.    The new product is also rich in dietary fiber and vitamin C, providing an excellent source of nutrients or at least 20 percent of the recommended Daily Value.

3.  You get a variety in nutrient-rich fruit– The new McDonald’s Fruit & Maple Oatmeal contains a half-cup of a variety of fresh and dried fruit.

Oatmeal Lovers will truly enjoy this and curious by-standers will become lovers of this treat. When you try it, please hit us up and let us know what you think!  Bon Appetit!
