Dr. Steve Parson, Pastor

Steve Parson, Sr. is the founder and Pastor of Faith Alive International Ministries also known as the Richmond Christian Center (RCC) located in the heart of Virginia’s capital city, Richmond. Dr. Parson was born in Buffalo, NY in 1949 and as a child was raised in the Baptist church. As a young adult, Pastor Parson received Jesus as his Lord and Savior while watching the PTL Club on television. In 1977, while attending a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Convention, he received the Pentecostal experience known as the Baptism with the Holy Spirit.

In 1978 Dr. Parson came into contact with books and cassette teachings by Kenneth Hagin of Tulsa, OK and Dr. Fred Price of Los Angeles, CA. He says, “The Lord taught and ministered to me more through these men than any theological school could possibly have done.”

On December 4, 1983, Dr. Parson gathered his family together in their living room for the first service of the Richmond Christian Center. The Church has received international recognition through Pastor’s television audience and national recognition through his outreach ministries. Pastor Parson is often asked to what he would attribute the growth of his ministry and he responds, “The Word of Faith” – Romans 10:8.

In addition to his God-given anointing to teach the Word of God, Dr. Parson’s ministry is accompanied by signs and wonders or as the Apostle Paul said “….in demonstration of the Spirit and of power that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God” (I Corinthians 2:4,5). The Lord has especially used Dr. Parson to minister to those who are deaf in on ear. To date, the blind have had their sight restored from the dead, under his minister, in 1985. He gives Jesus Christ and Him alone all the praise, glory and honor!

In 1998 the Lord spoke to Dr. Parson’s heart to begin work in Brazil. Pastor began ministering in Santos, Rio de Janeiro and then in Recife. This was only the beginning. After many months and much traveling to Brazil and back to the United States, the Church now has a legal and spiritual presence there. He is now learning the Portuguese language so that he will be able to minister without the need of interpreters. Through Faith Alive International Ministries of Brazil, Dr. Parson is sponsoring missionary trips to Salvador, Brazil with medical missions to the Brazilian people. A ministry to Children has also been started. A Missionary Training Center to the Nations will be created and headquartered in Salvador for the purpose of training workers to go to the nations. The Lord has given Dr. Parson a great vision and he is pressing towards it, to the glory of God.
