This year’s BET Honors is going to be a night to remember.
Poet and author Dr. Maya Angelou and famed singer/songwriter Stevie Wonder among others will be recognized and newly engaged diva and R&B legend Aretha Franklin, singer Patti LaBelle and rapper Common are confirmed to take the stage. Singer and new mother of twins Mariah Carey will also be honored.
Others expected to make an appearance include actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard, along with iconic actress Cicely Tyson.
BET has also announced that the proceeds from ticket sales of the show and taping will go to Metro Teen AIDS.
The event will once again be hosted by returning actress Gabrielle Union and is scheduled to take place on Jan. 14th at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C.
