President Obama seeks a 2nd term as president and to discuss his accomplishments with me the last three years is US Congressman (D-Maryland) Elijah E. Cummings.

Elijah E. Cummings represents, 7th District, Maryland. Congressman Cummings was first elected to Congress in 1996. He currently serves as the highest ranking Democrat on the house Committee of Oversight and Government Reform and is senior member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He is a former Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Congressman Cummings mentioned during our discussion that President Obama  is deserving of a 2nd term because “when he came in we were losing 760,00 a month and President Obama has turned this around. We have added in over two years close to four million jobs.”

He said “President Obama has invested tremendously in Healthcare Reform”. Congressman Cummings said lack of healthcare is the number issue in the African American community. ‘African Americans are dying and suffering needlessly because they don’t have health insurance” said Congressman Cummings.

Cummings said President Obama needs another four years to complete what he has already begun with healthcare reform, low-interest student loans, HBCU’s support and job creation.
