TV One’s Washington Watch with Roland Martin has earned its third nomination for the upcoming 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards, marking the show’s host his sixth consecutive nomination altogether.

Washington Watch with Roland Martin is up for Outstanding News/Information Series.  This accomplishment is also the show’s host and managing editor’s fifth honor with TV One for the political analyst who also received a prior recognition for his work with CNN.

“I am thankful that the NAACP Hollywood branch has once again recognized the hardworking staff of Washington Watch,” said Martin. “Our goal each week is to provide Black America with a comprehensive look at the political, social and cultural issues affecting us north and south, east and west. Whether its the Trayvon Martin story, voter suppression, or the shameful images of Black women depicted in reality TV, Washington Watch will continue to be the premiere voice that speaks to the African American experience.”

Named by Ebony Magazine as one of “The Speaking Elite” in 2012, Martin also earned a place on the coveted Root 100 list.  Martin also continues to serve as a political analyst for CNN, a senior analyst for The Tom Joyner Morning Show, and is a nationally-syndicated columnist for Creators Syndicate.

Washington Watch airs weekly, Sundays at 11AM EST on TV One.

Winners at the 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards will be announced during the two-hour starstudded event, which will air live on February 1, 2013 on NBC. For a complete list of nominees and exclusive details, visit the link below or click on Roland Martin’s image above.
