Iconic gospel songwriter and producer Kurt Carr swept the beginning of the year’s award season this past weekend receiving double honors during the 28th Annual Stellar Awards weekend in Nashville, TN.
First being honored at the BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Luncheon alongside Lady Tramaine Hawkins and Edwin Hawkins, Carr was given the James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award during the Stellar Awards live broadcast on GMC. Presented by Bishop Paul S. Morton, the award paid homage two-fold being that Carr is the protege of the late Reverend Cleveland.
During the ceremony, Carr was also honored in a special musical tribute featuring a riveting medley of his most well known singles he’s either written or contributed to.
