The United As One tour kicked-off at the Wabur Theater at the Ft. Knox military base in Kentucky on January 20, the day after the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards in Nashville. The tour’s next stop was a standing room only crowd at the Olivet Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Following Chattanooga, the tour continued to Mt. Pleasant Church and Ministries (Saturday, January 26); the APG Post Theater in Aberdeen, MD (Sunday, January 27); and St. Paul’s Baptist Church in Richmond, VA (Monday, January 28).
While preparing for the tour, Mitchell has been busy promoting his current album, Created 4 This, which is currently #9 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart. His current single, “Turning Around For Me,” is #7 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Songs chart.
Mitchell also co-hosted the 28th Annual Stellar Gospel Music pre-show and was a presenter on the live broadcast, which aired on GMC. Mitchell will also be the featured talent in a Ford commercial running during the nationally syndicated broadcast of the Stellar Awards, which will air on 150 stations in over 125 markets across the country, now through March 3, 2013 (check local TV listings for dates and times in your area). The Stellar Awards will re-air on Saturday, March 9 on GMC at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET.
