Richmond, VA — Joshua Coates is the name you will soon be hearing about from Hollywood to the Big Apple. He is a Movie Director, Producer, Playwright and a man after Gods heart.
His dreams are big and are becoming reality as non-stop supporting doors continue to open. His latest production and Motion Picture entitled INIQUITY can be found on the movie shelves in Walmart.
Coates says the movie is about choices with a comparison of David and Bathsheba. Coates says for those who don’t know the story, “It’s like King David who took his top Generals wife and had relations with her, she got pregnant, committed adultery, then tried to cover up his mess or his iniquity and ended up killing his friend.’
Ultimately, through this biblical story, it is also very real relevant and Coates updates it for his 2013 audience.

About Joshua Coates
His nickname DJC Born on March 10th 1982 Joshua Coates hit the Ground running! His Creativity & never die attitude was passed down from his father Maurice Coates who was the foundering member of the hit Philadelphia R&B Group Brenda & the Tabulations of the late 60’s. However, it is to his spiritual parents, Shepherd Mother Elaine Cobb (Head Quarters Church Of God In Philadelphia) who discovered and helped develop his abilities in the performing arts, and presiding Bishop, Bishop Henry A. Cobb (Head Quarters Church Of God In Philadelphia) who brought him up in the Gospel that Joshua Coates gives credit and recognition to for the success he is today. In 1996, while attending Philadelphia’s High School of Creative and performing Arts, Joshua Discovered the art of film making and theater Production. His love for movie making grew rapidly as he often cut class during school and spent countless hours after school on editing machines learning and perfecting his craft.
In 1997 Joshua wrote, and directed his first full length independent film entitled GAME. The film was entered into the Derek Freese Independent Film Festival at Temple University. Out of a 1000 entries, GAME placed 10th overall this ignited Joshua’s passion of his craft even further. In 2002 Joshua Wrote, directed, and starred in THE CALLED a Faith base Independent Film which got him Local Recognition from the Church Community and the Trinity Broad Casting Network (TBN). This same film later got him Acknowledgement from some of Hollywood’s elite players, one being a Philadelphia Great Charlie Mack, Long time aide and best friend of actor Will Smith. Joshua later collaborated with Charlie Mack to write a screenplay for a Major motion picture that he hope’s to one day see on the big screen. In 2007 he Executive Produced, Directed & Wrote The Jenae So In Love CD/DVD musical that was released through his company 20/20 Visions Entertainment Group music division (Universal Music Group).
In 2010 Director Joshua Coates wrote directed and produced (with the help of partners Mario Steele, Janice Hollis and Naeem Biggs) and green-lite his first mainstream Motion Picture entitled INIQUITY inspired by the biblical account of David and Bathsheba that is set for a Nationwide release on March 26th 2013. Joshua has learned a lot about the movie business by meeting some heavy hitters in the industry, such as Kevin Skinner President of Skinner Vision formally known as Business Partners to the Late Whitney Houston And John Houston, Mark Lipsky Executive producer of Coming to America, Boomerang, Nutty Professor & Beverly Hills Cop 3 and Producer David Garfinkle of Spiderman and Ghost on Broadway to name a few, Director Joshua Coates has gleamed from every opportunity. He is currently the founder and president of 20/20 Visions Entertainment Group that is making a name on the field of Motion pictures; presently he has several Television and film projects in the pipeline for 2013 -2015.
