Many of us have heard the old adage, “money is the root of all evil.” I say, used unwisely money can be the root of evil. Money problems top the list of reasons for divorce/break-up, undue stress, depression and the like.

Mishandling the money we have to work with, or living beyond the means of what is available can cause unnecessary heartache. Not to mention credit scores that fail to qualify for the best interest rates. Dodging phone calls from bill collectors, or wondering if one more purchase can make it onto that maxed out card is no way to live.

Predatory lending is still alive and well, and when pushed against a wall, payday loans or title loans, seem like an immediate fix to a pressing problem for some. However, the interest on such financial resources is exorbitant and takes advantage of those feeling desperate to solve matters with little time to spare.

So many have gotten caught up in payday loans and even with many cities shutting establishments down, a number of payday loan solutions have popped up on the web making it easier than ever to get that extra cash in a pinch. In just a short time, the next payday has come and often the borrower is unable to pay the loan off, and is forced to pay just the interest which extends the financial nightmare further and further in the hole.

Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender.” Wise counsel I would say!
