After being connected to a series of armed robberies in Short Pump, a Henrico teen will be sentenced to more than 100 years in jail.

Malik Jahquan Alston is expected to spend 20 years in prison, which, since he is 16, will make him 33 when he’s released.

The plea agreement that he consented to sentenced him to 123 years and 24 months in prison, but 103 years and 24 months of that has been suspended.

Such a harsh punishment was fitting because Alston showed no remorse in his crimes and he had terrorized Short Pump in December. These armed robberies began just 10 days after Alston turned 16.

Alston was caught by the police during a high-speed chase on I-64.
