Starting July1, any Virginians are barred from spending welfare money at strip clubs, casinos, tattoo parlors, or ABC Warehouses.

This is part of a new law that adds restrictions to Virginia Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) electronic transitions.

The restrictions specifically state that TANF cards cannot be used to purchase lottery tickets, alcohol, tobacco, or sexually indecent materials. Cards are also not allowed to be used in ABC stores, tattoo parlors, body-piercing establishments, anyplace where wagering/gambling takes place, and anywhere that provides adult entertainment where people are partially nude.
