If anyone in Richmond was hoping that the Squirrels might get a new stadium will just have to wait.
Last night, the Richmond City Council didn’t even allow the option to appear on the ballot to vote on.
It was decided, in a vote of 6 to 3, that the question of a new stadium would be in their hands.
Some members believed that the matter would be too complex for the general public, while others said that there wasn’t enough information for anyone to make a clear decision. Six council members have stated that the idea has not been fleshed out, possible locations have not been looked at, and funding hasn’t been determined.
The Squirrels have stated that they would prefer to remain where they are, but are also flexible.
