A $1,000 Winner Now Set to Sing on Emtro Records Next Release

TBR — Richmond, VA – From start to finish, East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest 2013 delivered an eye opening experience for many in attendance during this first time event.

Opening with panel discussions covering Leadership to the Music industry; everyone from Pastor Emory Berry, Pastor Sanders, Troy Sneed, Chanel, Bishop Arvetra Jones, J.T. Logan, Ethiopia, Sharvette Mitchell, Patrick Noble Allen. Monica Lisa Stevenson, Minister Earl Bynum James Johnson, Van Boyd shared their knowledge, insight and experiences to a music hungry crowd of teens, independent artists and music lovers that couldn’t write quick enough to capture every word.

Throughout the two part day, several artists took advantage of a couple of Praise Breaks to Showcase their music, including Tyrek Gaskins and Brenda Campbell & Mark Staggers.

Emtro Records CEO Troy Sneed taught a 101 Business Gospel Class, before the 1st Annual East Coast Gospel Music Summer Sing Off, with the winner, winning a track on an upcoming Emtro Gospel CD and $1,000 cash.  Several artists tried out and delivered their best musical performance in front of a host of seven judges, and Javen serving as the host emcee.  In the end Melissa Wilkins from Waverly, Virginia was named the winner later that night.  Troy Sneed awarded her with the opportunity to sing on one of his next releases, along with resident In-House producer James Johnson to assist in producing her track and an envelope with ten fresh crisp one hundred dollar bills.

The second half of the East Coast Gospel Music Summer Fest was filled with back-to-back musical performances. 

Kicking off with the Hip Hop Rock Block to the Night Showcase, the singing was non-stop, with C. Goss hosting the Hip-Hop portion with Bryan Carter, Barron Sorrell, Tye Berkeley, Secret Weapons, Mona J and Elvin Carter

Hosting the Night Showcase were Sharvette Mitchell, Cavelle Phillips, Van Boyd and The Belle with Bishop Joel Brown opening in prayer.  Special guests included Petula Beckles, Ruth LaOntra, Eric Waddell & ALS, Brenda Campbell,  Mark Staggers,  J. T. Logan, Monica Lisa Stevenson, Declaration, Bryan Pound, Javan, Minister Earl Bynum, Bubby Fan, Ram Palms, James Johnson & The Voices of Cedar Street and Trin-I-Tee’s 5:7 Chanel who performed one of her new songs that many left walking away calling a HIT!
