Gospel music’s sweetheart Jessica Reedy (of BET Sunday Best) has one of the most unique voices around. Her signature style and vocal competence is initially what drew her thousands of fans during her days competing on BET Sunday Best Season II. She quickly inked a deal with Light Records and her inner light hasn’t stopped shining since. We know who and what that light really is, but let Jessica Reedy tell it like only she can do – with a smile. Here’s a recent conversation we had with Jessica Reedy about her new look and the phenomenal success she’s achieved in such a short time. She also describes what honorees Kirk Franklin and Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s music has meant to her throughout the years.

Fred Hammond took Richmond, VA by storm this weekend with his highly anticipated “God, Love & Romance” official listening party at St. Paul Baptist Church. The night included special guest “YPJ” and the St. Paul Baptist Church Choir on backing vocals and Praise 104.7FM hostess Sheilah Belle.

During a recent conversation live inside the 27th Annual Stellar Awards press room, Gospel sensation LeJuene Thompson speaks of her musical mentors and how she found inspiration in John P. Kee, Donald Lawrence and The Clark Sisters.

Namely addressing John P. Kee and her chorale director Donald Lawrence as the men who taught her the business side of the industry, 2012 Urban Soul Cafe honoree Dorinda Clark Cole (of The Clark Sisters) is known as the guide for anyone who calls themselves a singer according to many vocalists like LeJuene Thompson., who is well known for the cover of the group’s hit “Cast Your Cares” found on Donald Lawrence’s 1995 project “Bible Stories.” To this day, LeJeune is one of the only singers brave enough to try her hand at one of The Clark Sisters’ most memorable tunes from their early days on the scene.

We’re still reminiscing on the awesome worship experience we encountered at this years BMI Trailblazers of Gospel luncheon in Nashville, TN. One of the most talked about tributes to 2012 honoree Bishop Hezekiah Walker came from none other than “the rose of Gospel” herself Dorinda Clark Cole of the equally legendary Grammy-winning ensemble The Clark Sisters.

The one & only Kim Burrell took the stage at this year’s BMI Trailblazers of Gospel Luncheon to pay tribute to another Gospel great – Bishop Hezekiah Walker. We know we were all in for a treat once she got ahold of the mic, but no one was expecting her to have quite as much fun with the audience during the show. Check out the tribute below as Kim invites a few guests in the room to have a little church during the live taping.

Congratulations to Kim Burrell on her triple honors at this past weekend’s Stellar Awards and Urban Soul Cafe Access Granted tribute in Nashvville, TN. If you didn’t know, Kim Burrell took home two Stellars – one for Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year and the prestigious Albertina Walker Female Vocalist of the Year Award. She was also honored the night before by the Urban Soul Cafe.
