TBR — Washington, D.C. –Robert E. Person is thrilled about his latest gospel release.  The 11-song project, aptly entitled Soul Sanctuary, is a stunning collection of inspirational, soon-to-be hits.  Merging gospel, jazz and R&B sounds, Person takes the listener to a musical paradise with songs like the God-directed “You”, the upbeat “Gotta Praise” and a soothing, jazzy arrangement of the church hymn, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”.

Fans will be able to witness the artistry of Robert E. Person up close and personal on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 5:00PM at the newest Busboys & Poets location in Hyattsville, MD (5331 Baltimore Avenue, Suite 104, Hyattsville, MD 20781 – 301- 779-2787).

The posh, new venue is the perfect atmosphere for Person to debut the new release.  “I am so grateful to have completed three projects,” says Person.  “I don’t take it for granted that people have been enjoying the music.  I also count it a privilege that the songwriters have trusted me to record their songs, but I count it even a greater honor that God has trusted me with His music,” says Person.  On September 10th, Person will be joined by Soul Sanctuary producer, piano virtuoso and jazz aficionado Allyn Johnson, drummer Quincy Phillips, and upright bassist Yusef Chisholm.  The evening will feature the artist in an intimate setting delivering songs like the project’s lead single, the Donny Hathaway remake, “Someday We’ll All Be Free”.

Person has been receiving rave reviews already from the new CD.  Kevin James of CJBRadio.com, who recently hosted an Online Listening Party for the artist, is thrilled with the project and the response of the listeners to Robert’s music.  Jessica Brooks of Breathecast.com also had glowing things to say in her recent review and interview of the psalmist.  “One listen to Person’s rearrangement to the classic hymn ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ will not only draw in lovers of gospel music but also those who enjoy the creative expression that jazz music harbors, which is displayed not only through Person’s smooth vocal performance but also through the masterful piano solo and thumping acoustic bass, which are common to jazz music.”
