TD Jakes is Jumping the Broom. Well, not really.
But the Bishop’s new movie entitled “Jumping the Broom” has an all-star cast including Paula Patton (Precious, Just Wright), Angela Bassett, Mike Epps and others. Speculation began in May of this year that Patton was eyeing the role. It looks like everything is a go.
Jumping the Broom follows the clash of two black families from opposite socioeconomic backgrounds at a weekend wedding in Martha’s Vineyard. Patton has been tapped to play the female lead of the wealthy family.
Bishop T.D. Jakes, Curtis Wallace, Tracey Edmonds, Glendon Palmer and Elizabeth Hunter are producing. Recently, Bishop Jakes shared a behind-the-scenes picture of the cast on his blog.
Jakes wrote, “I will be posting these sneak peeks as we film, so stay tuned for future updates!”
