The sound of Gospel music is ever changing these days and it’s beginning to open up a great deal of dialogue about it’s origins in addition to its current effectiveness. This week, an interesting conversation online initiated by gospel newcomer Jessica Reedy (of BET Sunday Best) explored the honest opinions of fans worldwide on one simple question – “What does Gospel sound like to you?”

By definition, Gospel music is literally intended to be the “good news” found in the New Testament in the Bible. Furthermore, Gospel music is said to be that good news set to melody and various instrumentation. With traditional, contemporary and urban gospel spawning a diverse set of voices and contributions to the timeless genre, we’re wondering how you feel about it and want to pose the aforementioned question here on PraiseRichmond.com.

SO WHAT DOES GOSPEL SOUND LIKE TO YOU?

No matter what your favorite genre of Gospel is, we want to hear from you. Does it all make a difference? Has Gospel lost it’s power? How has Gospel music changed? What should Gospel sound like? Is what you hear on the radio or in your church really Gospel? These are all relevant questions and we want you to answer, too.

Check out the conversation below and be sure to send us your comments, your thoughts and your reactions during today’s edition of The Belle Report as we continue analyzing what Gospel sounds like today.
