This year, I prayed for God to expand my abilities and reach so that I can take my passion for empowering youth into new places. After applying for a host of positions, a dream opportunity arose. I applied, was interviewed twice and was later told that the job was filled. I inhaled, shook off the disappointment and kept things moving. I received a call a few weeks later from the same institution asking me to work as a substitute teacher. I accepted the offer as an open door to possibilities. I immediately connected to the young people and the environment. I felt at home.

While aboard a plane to California last Tuesday, I received an offer for a full time opportunity. I was elated and marveled at God’s work. On Thursday, the day of the final interview, I was informed that the position couldn’t be filled because of funding issues. I was disappointed, and gave myself a moment to feel the emotions.

It’s easy to believe when all is well, or when the win is in sight. However, how much are we willing to trust God when delay feels like defeat? It takes an incredible amount of faith to surge forward with a broken heart, an empty bank account, or incredibly bad luck swimming around you like bloodthirsty sharks. Yet that is exactly what is required when seeking God for the best. It takes the most incredible levels of faith for us to receive incredible blessings.

Taking your faith past your comfort zones places you in the spiritual “skybox”, where you see miracles happen that most individuals would deem impossible. The realm of the impossible is where God shows us why he is the boss. Faith requires us to release any hope of figuring out the impossible and letting God do it. When we believe in the face of consistent misfortune, God smiles and takes the wheel. He massages our hearts, for he sees what we cannot and knows what we do not.

I trust God to all ends. I know that my outcome will be powerful and that my faith will be transformative. I gladly go the extra mile, believing one true and powerful statement: Everything works out in the end. If it’s not working out, then it’s not the end. Take your faith beyond the limits and watch what God will do for you. It won’t make any natural sense, but will leave your faith elevated and your soul elated.
