I am convinced that I am not the only person that has felt like throwing in the towel a time or two, if only for a millisecond. After all, we are human, far from perfect. It’s those times when nothing seemed to work out despite all of your efforts, or those times when it felt like one thing after the other was crashing and burning and before you could put out one life fire, another pops up just as challenging or even more so.

I know I am not alone in feeling like no matter how much effort, there are those times when you just cannot get it right and you are so tired that it feels as if you just can’t withstand another thing.

When things calm down and you have an opportunity to reflect, you can’t help chuckling when that thing you were convinced you could not survive, is the very thing that strengthened you and prepared you for something so much greater than your original plan. I don’t know about you, but some of my greatest pain, has reaped the greatest glory.

At the time it seemed you couldn’t catch a break, and now when you look back, the dots finally connect. You realize and can see clearly that if that situation had worked out the way you wanted it to, you never would have discovered the best for you.

Proverbs 16:9 has straightened me out a time or two to say the least, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

If we slow down, stop, pray and listen it will become much easier when navigating through situations that are difficult. Philippians 4:6 encourages us in that direction, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.

I dare you to try it, the very next time a situation presents itself, step back and strive not to worry, and allow the Lord to lead you to a solution that is best for you!
