Don Alexander, a supporter of Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson from Brentwood, Tennessee, raised enough money to place an inflammatory billboard near the town of Ferguson.

“This crowdfunding campaign is for the purchase of a billboard in the Ferguson, MO area. The billboard will display black text on a white background with the text #PantsUPDontLoot,” Alexander wrote on his Indiegogo page.

The campaign, which has raised $3,121 of its $3,000 goal, is scheduled to end Dec. 17.

#HandsUpDontShoot has become the rallying cry of the citizens of Ferguson and around the world who are furious, terrified and fed-up with the extrajudicial killing of Black people in this country. #PantsUpDontLoot is mocking their outrage and trafficking in racist stereotypes with the sole intent of disrespecting not only the protesters, but the Black community at large and the memory of Michael Brown.

A grand jury has been working through evidence since August to decide if they should charge Wilson with murder for the brutal slaying of an unarmed 18-year-old boy. As the nation awaits a grand jury decision, Missouri governor Jay Nixon has placed Ferguson in an official state of emergency in anticipation of rioting and looting, leading some to believe that a decision has already been made.
