GRAFFITI ON THE RISE IN RICHMOND

There is a drastic increase in vandalism across Richmond, especially graffiti. “Graffiti is known to be part of gang affiliation” says Charles Willis, executive director of United Communities Against Crime. Willis says it is more than just an eyesore, it can paint a bigger picture of violence in the community. Detectives are now photographing and analyzing the graffiti to match it with other examples in the area as a way to clear multiple cases when there is an arrest.
