Donald Lawrence is a singer, songwriter, composer, choir director and producer from North Carolina who studied at Cincinnati Conservatory and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in music – an honor that prepped him for a huge platform in the entertainment industry as a Grammy and Stellar award-winning artist.
Lawrence stepped on the scene in the early 90s on the R&B side of things before he returned to “church.” He maintained working in both genres, but continued to perfect his craft with the Tri-City Singers choir from the Carolinas. Once he got on board as their director, the group made a Billboard debut (no. 2) for their 1993 album, A Songwriter’s Point of View. Together they went on to release five more chart-topping albums over the course of 12 years. Before Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers “retired” in 2006, Lawrence released his first solo album called I Speak Life packaged under Donald Lawrence & Co. and with that came features from Faith Evans, Lalah Hathaway, Hezekiah Walker and more. He’s continued that pattern through today, also releasing a reunion album with the Tri-City Singers in 2013 for their 20th anniversary.

Earlier this year he announced the return of The Tri-City Singers for their 25th anniversary. That means, there’s new music coming soon!
