RICHMOND – Do you need a cell phone, but a monthly plan just isn’t in the budget?
You may be in luck thanks to a new program that launched this week.
More than 600,000 Virginians will soon get their hands on a free cell phone.
The mobile carrier Assurance Wireless, a new service of Virgin Mobile USA, is offering free phones to low income Virginians.
The free monthly service includes a set amount of minutes and 911 access.
To be eligible, participants must meet income guidelines or receive some sort of aid.
