Day 10

 The Power of Humility

And although that may sound relatively easy to do, I have found that it’s truly one of the hardest things of all. Many of us are walking through life wearing a protective overcoat of arrogance—afraid to be wrong, afraid to be open and vulnerable and afraid of finding out who we are.

But I promise you, whether your own arrogance is superbly subtle or wildly overt, letting that arrogance begin to melt away will be one of the most extraordinary choices of your life. As you stop trying to forcibly manage the thoughts, beliefs and actions that arise from your mind and ask instead to be guided by a source greater than yourself, you will find a world of support showing up in surprising ways.

So today, begin to make a positive new habit of asking for assistance and courage from the divine. By asking God, “Please do for me what I cannot do for myself,” you commit fully to living a humble life. At this momentous time in history, you must ask the divine to lift you out of the bondage of self so that you may be able to serve all those who might be healed or inspired by your presence and gifts. When you invoke humility, your next agent of change, you are able to transcend the habitual responses of your lower self, to see how deeply you matter and to know what a vital role your soul plays in the uplifting of the world around you.

Your mission today is to turn over your life and your will to the care of something greater than yourself. It is to consciously choose, each minute of the day, to look outside your ego’s will in order to see the greater will that is waiting to be done.

Cleansing Ritual

Write out the details of who you are judging, the judgments you are holding about them and the cost of holding on to those judgments. And then today, practice opening your heart to the people around you. When you catch yourself in judgment of other people, take a deep breath, acknowledge to yourself that you’re judging out of fear and then ask yourself, “How could I humbly open my heart to this person?”

Soulful Action

Your Outer Goal: With what specific situation or issue could you humbly ask for divine assistance in order to bring your closer to your desired goal?

Your Inner Goal: Where could you let go of the need to be right about something so that the doors to your desired feeling can freely open?

Soul Food: God can do for me what I cannot do for myself.
