Richmond, VA ( November 15, 2021) — It wasn’t that long ago, when we shared the story about Liberation Church, and its new church home in Midlothian Turnpike. Under the leadership of Pastor Alexander “Jay” Patrick also known as Pastor Jay, who serves as the senior pastor and the CEO of Liberation Veterans Services, Liberation Family Services and his wife Pastor Ashley Patrick, who serves as the executive pastor and as the Women’s Ministry Director, this church has been making very strategic moves in pulling the community together while building a strong foundation for their church family.
It was back in April 2021 when Liberation Church front doors took on a new look after being gifted a new church and church campus. Located at 5501 Midlothian Turnpike, where the ROC, renamed Celebration Church and Outreach Center, had operated independently since 2007, Pastor Jay and Pastor Ashley announced that thanks to the unprecedented generosity of Celebration’s Church Outreach and the Board of Directors, Liberation Church was gifted the church’s property debt-free, which is valued at $15 million. This includes a 135,000 sq. ft. sanctuary that seats 4,200, a bit larger that their former 18,000 sq. ft. church located just a few blocks east of their new location.
Their new facility includes three full length basketball courts, a commercial workout facility, and a full service café/restaurant. The church also offers free food from their food pantry to anyone who may need a little help. Pastor Patrick says, “Anyone who may need any assistance can stop by the church on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 2p.m. to 4p.m. and pick up a box of food, which is absolutely free.” The church is currently feeding 400 families of four every week.
Additionally, Pastor Jay says, they were also gifted six vans, a box truck and an additional property. That property houses women who are suffering from human trafficking and domestic violence and will continue to get the assistance they need under the Liberation Church umbrella.
However with this gift, the final paper worked needed a few more i’s to be dotted and t’s to be crossed. Well as of this month, that all happened and their deal has been finalized.

TESTIMONY TIME!!! A few weeks ago we officially closed on the largest gift in our region. This is a modern day miracle and many still are wondering what’s the catch. The catch is when you are faithful, and when it’s your time, God will break all the rules, stereotypes, and cut all the red tape to ensure He honors the WORD that’s been placed over your life. This is proof that miracles still happen and when you follow God’s path despite challenges and even opposition, there is a reward for the committed. When I signed these documents it solidified a transfer of MULTIPLE PROPERTIES!!!!!
With the main property’s only real estate comparable being Kroger’s to give you an idea of the size and scope. The multi-purpose space can seat several thousand people, there’s a restaurant, a gym, a commercial kitchen with food pantry for the community, there are classrooms galore, a fully functional retail business where the community shops Monday – Saturday. There’s a studio, residential programs to expand our services for the homeless and marginalized. There are even three full length basketball and soccer courts to partner with the city on programs like RVA Safer Streets (an inner city basketball league) sponsored by the police department designed to reduce crime. And there is actually much more I could share. But I need you to understand I’m not bragging, but I’m testifying.
My wife and I imagined one day being able to purchase this property, which by the way is literally across the street from a property we had just acquired three years ago. But God had other plans. Yes, God had an exceedingly and abundantly above all you can ask or think blessing in mind. So when I signed these closing documents there was NO LOANS, NO CONTINGENCIES, and NO DEBT!
The property was gifted to us “free and clear” and we give God praise and honor for this miraculous blessing and the opportunity to see something so profound in our lifetime.
