Ukrop’s Super Market Inc. has finalized the sale of 25 grocery stores of its locations to a U.S. division of a Dutch grocery conglomerate.

Giant-Carlisle, a division of Netherlands-based Ahold NV, took possession of the stores today.

During the next several months, the new owners will rebrand the stores as Martin’s Food Markets, begin opening on Sundays and will sell beer and wine.

The changes will be gradual and should be completed by spring, the chain said this afternoon.

Pennsylvania-based Giant-Carlisle operates 26 stores under the Martin’s name, including nine in Virginia.
