Sapp, pastor of Lighthouse Full Life Center Church on Burton St. SE, is among the overall nomination leaders for 2011 Stellars, considered the top awards in the gospel music industry.

On the strength of his “Here I Am” CD and its No. 1 hit “The Best In Me,” Sapp has nods as the gospel industry’s top artist, male vocalist and traditional male artist.

His album, released last February, is nominated for both overall CD and traditional CD of the year.

“The Best In Me” scored nominations for song and performance of the year.

Aaron Lindsay, producer of Sapp’s CD, also has a nomination.
