“Our Heritage and Faith Holy Bible for African American Teens” may help black teens better grasp “the word of God” and help them relate to religious topics.

The new Bible, published by Zondervan is a product of a partnership between Wade Hudson’s Just Us Books and the publisher.

“We came up with the concept and idea because we feel that often in our churches, we tend to miss young people,” Hudson told TheGrio.com. “They’re not getting the necessary information about the tenets of faith.”

Hudson believes the teen Bible will help young people become more interested in their faith and learn more about God.

The Holy Book is color coordinate to match a boy or girl’s taste, the addendum starts with a full page of the lyrics to the Black national anthem. Teens may also enjoy the color photos of young Black people, maps, and a presentation page that includes a family section.

Though the new Bible has its critics, Hudson believes the book will attract a broader audience and draw more teens to the pews.
