Chesapeake, VA – Minister Earl Bynum is the Executive Minster of Music at Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA, he’s an International Gospel vocalist, and a two time Stellar Award nominee.  His songwriting skills, vocal arranging creativity and gospel music artistry has elevated him as one of the most recognized leaders in music and ministry.   Bynum is on tap to lead worship as the evening song leader for the 97th Annual Hampton University Minister’s Conference and 77th Annual Choir Directors’ – Organist Guild Workshop being held this week June 5-10.

The Hampton University Minister’s Conference began in 1914 when the Negro Organizational Society, the Conference for Education in the South, the Southern Education Board, and the Cooperative Education Board sought to address the growing concerns of the African-American church and its relationship to the community. With Hampton Institute now Hampton University carrying strong influence with each of these community organizations, it became the birth-place of the original Ministers’ Conference,  The conference is now one of the largest Ministers Conferences on the east coast attracting over 8,500 attendees from around the country.

The opening concert this year will feature Darwin Hobbs and the Gospel Music Workshop of America Mass Choir (Tidewater) at Odgen Hall on the campus of Hampton University.  Featured speakers will include Rev. Dr. Gina Marcia Stewart (Memphis, TN), Rev. Dr. Frank Anthony Thomas (Memphis, TN), Dr. Carolyn Showell (Towson, MD), Rev. James C. Perkins (Detroit, MI) and Bishop J. Delano Ellis, II (Cleveland, OH)

Keeping his schedule busy, Bynum has again expanded his weekly radio show which focuses on music from Christian and gospel independent artists.  On Stage With Earl Bynum is his nationally syndicated radio show on Rejoice Musical Soulfood airing in 44 markets.  His show can be heard on Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon eastern and is now added to the weekly line up as the morning show on Thursdays from 7:00 – 9:00 AM.  You can tune in via the internet and listen to On Stage With Earl Bynum at www.musicalsoulfood.com .
