Temperatures in the western half of the US have reached record-breaking highs.

Places like Arizona, Death Valley, and Las Vegas have been slammed with these high temperatures that have resulted in wildfires, droughts, and heat waves. In addition to the tragic deaths of the 19 firefighters in Arizona’s wildfire, more people in Las Vegas have been hospitalized for heat-related illnesses.

This heat wave has, so far, been confined to the Southwest, but is now steadily moving north.

It seems as if Oregon, Montana, Idaho, and Washington are will be the next areas to face high temperatures and a heat wave.

Weather advisories and warnings have been issued to these areas. It is possible that other states will be at risk, since even Alaska has reached temperatures of over 80 degrees this year.

There is no word yet on whether this weather will reach the Eastern part of the U.S.
