According to a new poll, apparently most Virginians are OK with gay marriage.

This poll was conducted last month and involved 600 Virginians. Statewide, 55 percent said that they strongly favor or are in favor. The results in Central Virginia revealed 53% were in favor of gay marriage.

In other parts of the state, opinions vary. Roughly 68% of the people asked in Northern Virginia were accepting of gay marriage. However, only about 35% of people in Western Virginia were comfortable with the idea.

Gay marriage is still not legal in Virginia but with the ACLU planning to challenge the current laws against gay marriage, that could change. Do these numbers prove that Virginia is ready for gay marriage to be legalized?
