Cook County Judge Donald Panarese, Jr. ordered the release of Chicago officer Lowell Houser after the cop was charged with murder in an off-duty fatal shooting. The move comes at the same time that prosecutors alleged that the officer brandished a gun and threatened the victim weeks before the deadly incident.
Data analysis found that the vast majority of those shot by Chicago police are Black males. In most cases, the officers claimed they feared for their lives.
