UPDATE: TBR — PR –Dr. Martin Luther King was only 39 years old when an assassins bullet took his life.

His passion for Equal Rights was his staple for his existence.  He stood up for the people who could not stand up for themselves, and because of that we are remembering him today.

We are remembering his dream, his fight, his struggle, his courage and his legacy.

About Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose original name was Michael King Jr., was born on this day January 15th in 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. King received his formal education at Boston University, Morehouse College and Crozer Theological Seminary. He was a well known and respected Baptist minister and civil-rights activist with an overwhelming impact on race relations in the United States. Through his activism, he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the South and other areas of the nation, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. King headed the SCLC. Dr. King was assassinated in Memphis, TN in April 4, 1968.
