RICHMOND, VA -On Thursday day severe thunderstorms came through the Richmond and surrounding area with strong winds, frequent lightning and rain so heavy causing many to pull over on the side of the road.
The force of nature was so strong, hundreds of tree branches were broken and found along road ways, some completely blocking streets and at the height of the storm leaving more than 198,000 people in the dark.
That number has since dropped to 150,000 residents in the Richmond Tri City Area as Dominion Virginia Power Crews work to restore electricity to communities.
