Richmond, VA – The 2nd Street Festival, returned for the 28th year, Saturday-Sunday, October 1-2 to once again celebrate the rich culture of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood.
This year, the festivals featured and special guests included Rare Essence with special guest DJ Kool, James “Saxsmo” Gates, J Unity, Tribute, featuring Desiree Roots and many other community singers, dancers and performers, covering four stages, along with food vendors, a marketplace and a Kidz Zone.
Over the years it has become one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest street festivals with close to 40,000 people making their way through the festival during the two day celebration.
Guests emcees for the weekend included Sheilah Belle “The Belle” and JR Davis, both from Praise 104.7FM.
