Mike Tyson’s youth has inspired a new drama series for HBO, directed by Spike Lee and produced by the creator of HBO’s “Entourage.”
The show based inspired by Tyson’s childhood will be called “Da Brick” and will explore what it means to be a young, black man in supposedly post-racial America. “Da Brick” will be set in current day Newark, which is also nicknamed “Brick City.”
With Tyson’s wild reputation, if its drama HBO wants, they got it. Tyson’s wife, Lakiha Tyson will also serve as one of the show’s co-executive producers.
