Richmond, VA – Cedar Street Baptist Church and the Richmond Community came together Sunday evening to pay special honor to a man who is highly respected and known throughout the Gospel Community.  He is none other than Mr. Barksdale “Barky” Haggins, owner of Barky’s Spiritual Store in downtown Richmond.

For many, Mr. Barky is a living legend and has been in Richmond since they were born.

Now in his mid seventies, Mr. Barky is largely responsible for keeping the Gospel Community on the map in the Richmond Community and has become the necessary stop for Gospel Artists coming through the area.

Visionary and Cedar Street Music Minister James Johnson said, “He has done so much for our church, for me and for our community, I just wanted to let him know how much he is appreciated.”
