chicago and police brutality
Cook County Judge Donald Panarese, Jr. ordered the release of Chicago officer Lowell Houser after the cop was charged with murder in an off-duty fatal shooting. The move comes at the same time that prosecutors alleged that the officer brandished a gun and threatened the victim weeks before the deadly incident.
Lawyers for officer Jason Van Dyke, who is charged in the shooting death of 17-year-old Laquan Mcdonald, requested a dismissal of the criminal case Tuesday. A judge also approved the release of Mcdonald's juvenile records to the lawyers.
