Richmond Mayor Dwight C. Jones, Richmond City Council, Richmond School Board with new school superintendent Dr. Dana T. Bedden and Principal, Martin Luther King JR, Middle School Dr. Valerie Harris will attend the new opening of the Martin Luther King JR, Middle School. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Welcome Back Breakfast will be held at 7:30 this morning at 1000 Mosby Streer-Bus Loop Entrance (rear).

The new Martin Luther King, JR, Middle School, state-of-the-art facility is designed for 800 students and is 152,435 square feet. Upon full completion, the total project cost for the new school is estimated to be between $26-$28 million. Under the Jones Administration, two new elementary schools have also opened, and a new high school is scheduled to open next year.
