Traditionally summer time is filled with family reunions. All through the year family members work together to ensure that a great time is had by all. Many families depending on the size of the family opt for committees that work in partnership with each other. By reunion time, if all goes well, the venue that has been selected for events, along with hotel accommodations, food, entertainment and souvenirs all come off without a hitch.

That’s the way we would like to believe things go, however we all know or have heard the stories about the confusion that can accompany groups of people that try and come together all on one page for the greater good.

Family reunion planning is not the only instance where conflicting points of view can be observed; we see it in everyday life. We work with people that have no problem injecting confusion into an otherwise simple matter. Confusion and discord even happens in our churches, choirs and forums. The truth is lack of unity can be observed most anywhere. Believe it or not, there are people that thrive on confusion, that’s why gossip continues because at the core some people enjoy stirring matters to keep drama hot and heavy.

It’s not a matter of whether or not you will find yourself in the midst of confusion, more importantly, how do you navigate through it?

Psalms 133:1 provides great curriculum, ““How wonderful it is, how pleasant, when brothers live together in harmony.”

The power of unity is endless! When people can come together on one accord as a unified force, the sky is the limit. It does not mean that everyone has the same thought; however it does mean that all opinions and thoughts are considered in an environment that welcomes diversity of opinion and values the collection of many.

Genesis 11:6 offers us a powerful word that when committed to our lives can pay huge dividends; “If as one people, speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.”
