Kelly Price speaks about Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown

PR — Hollywood, CA– R&B Singer Kelly Price hosted her “For The Love Of R&B” event honoring her late friend Whitney Houston on February 4, 2015 at The Attic on Hollywood Blvd in Hollywood, CA. The star-studded event featured music from Grammy

nominees Antonique Smith (Hold Up, Wait A Minute) and Angie Fisher (I.R.S.). Price was also among the performers. She, Faith Evans and Isaiah Washington were the hosts.

Price asked the attendees to keep Bobbi Kristina Brown in their prayers. The 21-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown is in critical condition, fighting for her life in an Atlanta Hospital. The event paid tribute to Houston, who died in 2012. Her last public appearance was at Kelly Price’s party just hours before the Grammys.

While the packed house came to have fun and get their groove on, midway through the event, Price turned the celebration of R&B into a church service, singing a Whitney Houston gospel medley. Many could be spotted in the dark crowd with hands lifted up, giving praise to God, even in the midst of the flowing alcoholic drinks.

Price said the reason for having this event is to continue to support R&B music. She and Faith Evans told the audience the avenues for listening to true R&B are dwindling, as the genre is slowly eroding from radio and music TV shows. This is their way of reminding the people of where R&B music came from and letting the people know it’s up to us to protect this treasure.

Among the celebrities present were actress Dawnn Lewis; singers, Goapele, Lalah Hathaway, Cathy Sledge and Nicci Gilbert.
