TBR — Richmond, VA – The Gospel Music Workshop of America, Richmond Chapter proved successful again this year.

Kicking off last week at Fourth Baptist Church, in historic Church Hill, hundreds turned out for the Music Workshop including Gospel recording artist Dr. Patrick Brady from Dallas, TX, leading the way as the Guest Clinician and Rev. Dr. Phillip Knight Sr., Senior Pastor of Rock Hill Baptist Church as the Special Guest Speaker.

Other special guests for the week also included, Gospel Psalmist Malcolm Williams, the GMWA Petersburg Chapter, First African Baptist Church Contemporary Choir, the GMWA Richmond VA Chapter, Andrea Long Wimbush, Eric Waddell, Gloria Johnson and many more.

During the week powerful rehearsals were held with Brady (in photo) teaching several original songs that often left everyone worshiping the Lord and not wanting the evening to end.

Throughout the week you could also find many of the faithful GMWA attendees in the sanctuary including Francine Bryce, Peggy Perkins Smith, Freddie Fields, James Johnson, Floyd Miles, Bee on the Organ and a long list of others.

The convention wrapped up on Saturday with a 5p.m. concert at 2nd Baptist Church in the Randolph section of the city.

The choirs all performed as if there were no tomorrow, with a lot of heart, passion and love!

Congratulations to the GMWA Richmond Chapter on another successful year, leading the way in Gospel Music.
