The 23rd President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf was the first female elected president. Johnson was born in October 23, 1938 in Monrovia, Liberia. Before serving in government, Johnson was schooled in Madison Business College, Harvard University, University of Colorado and Wisconsin with Bachelors degree’s in Economics and Accounting and a Master’s in Public Adminstration. We salute the first Black woman to be Head of State.
