Pope Francis makes history by becoming the first pontiff to address the joint meeting of the United States Congress in Washington, D.C.
And they shed a few tears….United States Senator Tim Kaine who represents Virginia in Congress shed some tears when Pope Francis addressed a joint meeting of Congress. Kaine is Catholic and says maybe he is a “complete sap,” but it was a “very emotional experience” for him. Kaine was not the only one trying to hold back the tears as the Pope’s speech was definitely touching, House Speaker John Boehner was obviously moved as he sat behind the pontiff.
