Your vote is your fundamental right in America. A ‘no’ vote from you is a ‘yes’  vote for candidates you don’t want to hold public office on a local, state and federal level. If housing, healthcare, employment, funds for education, public safety, criminal justice reform is an issue for you -vote.

The general election is Tuesday, November 3, 2015. The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tuesday, October 13, 2015 is the voter registration deadline for the November 3, 2015 general election. Eligible Virginians can use the Department of Elections online system available at http://elections.virginia.gov/register to check their registration status, update their information, or register to vote for the first time. The paperless process requires authentication using your Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) information. Voters without a DMV identification number can still use the system to provide their information and print a completed registration form to send to their local voter registration office.

“Virginia is one of only 25 states to offer online voter registration,” said Edgardo Cortés, the Commissioner of Elections. “The Department of Elections is pleased to offer the convenience and security of online voter registration to help make voter registration more accessible for our citizens,” he added.

Ways to register to vote in Virginia and be eligible to vote in the November 3, 2015 election:

· Register on-line @ http://elections.virginia.gov/register

· Apply in-person at their local voter registration office by 5:00pm on October 13, 2015.
