We all know that having beautiful skin is the most important part of having fabulous makeup game.

But on those days when we’re a little stressed, a little sleep-deprived, or straight up suffering from acne problems, we could all use a little help.

Beauty guru, Stasia of Lifestyle Stash, stopped by HB Studios to tell us everything we can do to make our skin look flawless for an everyday makeup routine in five quick and easy steps:

Start off by placing your foundation on the back of your hand. (Stasia suggests doing this because your hand will warm up the foundation and make for easier, smoother application.)

Spread the foundation all over your face and under the chin for an even look. Make sure to use a beauty blender, as it will create perfect coverage and will smooth out any patches or lines in your foundation.

Then put on some strokes of concealer that’s two shades lighter than your foundation in an upside down triangle under your eyes to give them a lift. Let your concealer set so it doesn’t rub off over the course of the day.

Following your concealer, brush on some powder under the eyes.

Finally, contour using a bronzer that’s a shade darker than your natural complexion to give your skin some extra lifts and angles. Stasia recommends starting at the temples, then going down the cheeks and beneath your chin.

That’s it—your skin is ready for any event, whether it’s a night out for drinks with your girls or just a quick trip to the store. Of course, a little trial and error will help you customize the routine just the way you like it. But we say this a pretty good start for any woman trying to switch up her look.

Watch Stasia show us how it’s done in the video above.
