Lawmakers in the General Assembly voted and approved Hemp farming for industrial use in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The cash crop was banned for decades in the state. Governor Terry McAuliffe signed the bill this week to let farmers legally manufacture hemp products for science, agriculture and research in global markets. The new law will go into effect on July 1, 2016
