Education is the key to success irrespective of your zip code.

The U.S Department of Education is offering an “experiment” that will allow low-income students to get grants to take college courses while still in high school. Germanna Community College has plans to participate in the “Dual Enrollment Pell Experiment” and is among 44 colleges nationwide that have been selected for the groundbreaking program, which gives high-schoolers access to Pell Grants. Germanna President David Sam says that too often, dual-enrollment courses are available only to families who can afford the tuition, books and fees. Germanna offers the dual-enrollment pilot programs that will impact Orange and Culpeper counties.
